Memories of Nelson

Nelson graced my life for almost 20 years.
He was adopted by Ed as a rescue. Nelson had been living at the rescue shelter for nearly a year and was nearing his expiration time as cats kept a year before heading out of this world. Ed asked who was next to go, and as Nelson was next, took him home.Nelson lived with his pet daddy Ed from 2005 until 2021, devotedly so. I was always happy to see Nelson. He was just that kind of kitty, sociable and full of good will. Nelson was an enduring presence, unfailingly tender and affectionate, he lit up our lives. Nelson's joie de vivre lifted my spirits. Nelson came to me in 2021 when his pet daddy passed. His presence during that time was a balm to my spirit. He was a super cuddler. He had some peculiarities such as preference for being let into dark bathroom to meditate. Nelson was a good traveler, nature-lover, connoisseur of relaxation and good will, an all around super cat. With thanks for turning up in my life and putting up with me, Nelson I'm so grateful we could take care of each other as long as we did.
