Memories of Nogie
We saw Nogie one evening on our porch. He wouldn't let us approach him so we assumed he was a feral. We began feeding him & then one day we were able to trap him. We brought him inside, but to our surprise, he did not growl or hiss. We took him in to our vet to be checked out & neutered & when we brought him home he continued to be calm. The next step was to slowly introduce him to our other cats. He was a sweetheart & loved our cats. His warm & wonderful personality came out & he became one of the loveliest cats I ever adopted. Soon we were to find out that he LOVED to play & would instigate wrestle matches with the other cats,(whether they wanted to or not) He made us laugh so much when he did this. He never hurt any of them & would often plop down on the floor to give them the advantage. He had the build of a bulldog & his personality was a little dog-like as well. One of a kind.
Today, we had to let Nogie go. We had him with us for 11 wonderful years. I've had many cats & loved them all. But Nogie got into my heart in a very special way. He made me laugh & now he makes me cry. I haven't felt this kind of pain in a long time. There are many more strays out there that need our help & they will have a home with us. But they won't be Nogie.
