Percy was picked up as a stray, dirty and with eyes sealed shut from discharge. With good compassionate treatment,his eyes were cleared and vision restored before I adopted him. We bonded immediately. He was perfect-I had no idea that there were dogs like Percy. Quiet-never, ever barked-did everything he was told from the beginning. Stayed by my side, got along with everyone. Ate well and was completely housetrained. Simply a joy to be with. From the very beginning I said he was too good to be true, things were going too well, there must be a shoe to fall, a downside somewheres. And then, there it was. Percy was riddled with cancer. Nothing could be done and the prognosis was measured in weeks. He died less than two weeks after his diagnosis. We had been together less than two months. I mourn for what could have been, for what gentle Percy deserved and didn't receive. I suffer for the raw deal that he did get. Percy died in his home,much loved. My heart is broken.
