We had so many beautiful and fun adventures! From hiking mountains to romping through the snow to the laying on the beaches. We adopted Quincy when he was 3 or 4 years old from the Maxfund Shelter in Denver, we saw his beautiful face and fell in love with him. He was so gentle and sweet and loved to travel and play. A year after his adoption he became paralyzed, it was very sudden and tradgic. We rushed him to the vet where they diganosed him with degernative disc disease and a ruptured disc, within a weeks time he underwent back surgery and started the long healing and rehab process. What a trooper and fighter, he worked so hard to get back to walking and enjoying life. It was amazing how everyday or so with lots of love and care we could see his progress and slowly but surely he was back to romping around and being his old self. Quincy didn't let that set back deter him from having fun and enjoying life! We got back to hiking, running, traveling, snowshoeing, lounging around and reading books with youngsters. One of his favorite things was listening to my neice read her book to him. Quincy was so good with kids and everyone else too! He always loved to say hi to whoever wanted to say hi to him. He had so many human and doggie friends. He continued to do therapy like hydro treadmill and accupunture for his back since the degernative disc disease was always there but again he never let it stop him, his spirit was so strong! Many many adventures, hikes, walks, and travels later our sweet furbaby sadly developed bone cancer. Again his stoic amazing spirit persevered through over a year of having cancer, enjoying all that life had to offer along the way and didn't let it get him down, he still enjoyed his walks and travels and snuggles. Quincy taught us so much, especially how to enjoy every moment, don't take the small things for granted, and be grateful. We loved him so much and his love will always be with us and his memories are always in our hearts. He will always be our very special boy. Quincy you are such a beautiful and gentle soul and I know you are still with us. Love you my Angel. Miss you so much sweet Angel! |
