You may have been deaf, but you stole everyone's heart. You always nurtured and played with Phoebe and I will never forget the wrestling you two did every night.. My cardboard boxes will never be the same and Pudge will not have his Hissy fits anymore. The evening sneak attacks from behind the recliner chair were always fun. I'll never forget your first trip to the mantle, when all the pictures came down like Dominoes. You needed to get up high when I first brought you home , since you couldn"t hear and needed to survey your surroundings. Then there was the time I needed to bring you in the car carrier on an hour ride to the Vet specialist and you got car sick. I only realized then what the sensation of a deaf animal in a moving car, unable to see to compensate for the movements, must have been. Once I let you out of the carrier and you climbed on the back window ledge you were fine. Just last week you were sitting half on my recliner and half on the windowsill watching the birds, just watching you made me smile. I will miss your visits to my lap and computer table every night as well as the gusto with which you ate your Fancy Feast foods. Phoebe misses you dearly. She looks for her playmate and grooming partner every night, as do I. Pudge, the bully that he could be,also looks like he misses you. He checks around corners and goes to your favorite spots I guess waiting to Hiss and Pounce. I know that you are now hearing, running and enjoying the others that are there with you. Until we meet again===Mom |
