Memories of Sammy (Sampson)
When we first met, he sat right in front of me and I knew he was the one, but didn't give myself permission to receive so much love. Luckily Julien said this one and I seconded! Sam entered our hearts and home that second. He at first never wanted to leave our home, but once he got comfortable we couldn't stop his adventures. He loved walking and daytrips and in the later years hanging out in the yard or on the couch. He loved meeting people and all creatures and especially loved our neighbor, Ralph. His best dog pal, Gellert, also a neighbor enjoyed long walks too. He even loved his vet visits with Drs Houston Miller and Cameron and assured by Joyce, Molly and Mike. He welcomed 3 baby sisters, Sissy, Maggie and Sunshine and was a great big brother. A gentle giant with a soft mouth, playing while never hurting a soul. So attentive and such deep wisdom. He loved jumping through, laying in, and catching snow. He also liked playing in the hose water on a warm day. Nothing beats rubbing his ears or scratching his back. He was a sucker for any food and was so easy to train. His favorites were his home-cooked meals and on occasion treats like fresh mozzarella, LOL yellow cheese, steak, and popcorn. He enjoyed nosework and doing anything involving food, other dogs, people and especially Mommy. He and Maggie were cohorts with squeezing extra snacks out of us. He loved playing and watching football with Daddy and enjoyed helping him shovel as well as playing fetch and tug of war with Mommy. He enjoyed walking freely without a leash but also really enjoyed a loose leash. So trustworthy. He brought so much joy, love and peace to those he met. Sam's my Soul,my heart my breath. There's absolutely nothing I would not have done for this kid. Thank you for the most extraordinary 12.5 years. Miss you so much, my love. He's welcomed at the Rainbow Bridge by Sissy, Patches, Gellert and Willow
