Scarlett~ The most brave dog I have ever known. After Snick and Bouncer died on the same day, dad and Dennie brought you and Rusty to me. Dad and Dennie chose you because you were cowering at the back of your cage. You had been the dog that had been at the SPCA for a long time. You SEEMED sweet. Little did I know that a red, Australian Shepherd/German Shepard mix would be the dog that would be my protector. I remember that my grandaughter Reagan and you were the best of friends. She was three when she would lay her head on your tummy and watch television. You were her dog pillow. You would snore softly while she watched Tele Tubbies. When any of us would be out in the yard, you were the patrol police. Once we moved to OC and you were gaining in years, you let Bindy become part of our family. A Rottweiler/Pitty Mix; you took her in as your child and taught her all your skills. Bindy has not forgotten you Scarlett, nor will I. Bindy has made it clear that no one comes up behind me and my pack. I miss your sweet nature and protective spirit. But you are what I call a "Dog's Dog". I don't ever think that you belonged to me Scarlett. You are what I call a REAL dog. You knew your purpose and place. You tolerated me as the leader. No dog will ever take your place as the leader of the pack. I hope before I die; I have another dog like you Scarlett. Love, Please also visit Rusty. |
