Shaylee always slept in my arms. Every night she would turn around about 4 times until she found the perfect spot to lay. She always had to touch me. She was only 4 weeks old when we rescued her from a barn. She weighed 1 lb 15 oz and fit in the palm of my hand. We were lucky to get her to our vet right away. She had a heart murmer and was full of worms and ear mites. With medicine and a lot of TLC she flourished. Her heart murmer never went away and she died from a heart attack at only 5 1/2 years. In those short years, she brought so much love and joy to us. Every night she would greet me when I came home from work. She would stretch her back right leg out and then give me loves. I called it her little curtsey. Our patrick was 2 1/2 when we got Shaylee and he instantly fell in love with her. Who Wouldn't!! He pretty much became a Dad to her. He cleaned her all the time. They played together and was constant companions. She was always playing with toys and she had a feddish with water. Whenever she found a glass with liquid in it, she would play with it until it tipped over, and then she would watch the water spill. And whenever we changed the water bottle on our bubbler, she would sit and watch it as the water filled in. She loved the noise of it. She tugged at our hearts when she came to us, and we only loved her even more as time went by. She was my buddy. She has been gone 2 months now, and it seems like only yesterday that I found her. I still cry alot, because I miss her love and her shenanigans. She is missed terribly. We can only know that she is in a special place and know she is always with us in spirit. |
