Memories of Shilo
You were just 6 weeks old when you chose me to be your human parent and became part of my life.

Since that day, you have been my faithful friend and constant companion. Whether it was a quick trip to walk along the beach and play in the waves, or our road trips to Minnesota and New York and New Hampshire or our move to Arizona you were always ready for the adventure, claiming your seat in the car so you could sit with your head on my shoulder and look out through the windshield. And on those few occasions where you could not go on the trips with me and had to stay behind, you would rush out the door to greet me when I returned.

After we stopped traveling and settled down to give you a home, I brought Coco into the house so you would have a doggy companion and when after we rescued Blondie you were not jealous, you readily accepted them into your home and taught them rules of the house and how to use the doggy door and shared me and your toys with them.

Then when the inevitable happened and Coco and Blondie made you a daddy and when I decided to keep some of the puppies, you showed how big your heart really is and how much love there is in your heart. Even when the puppies were puppies and at their annoying best, you were the to protect Bear, Mickey, Minnie and Tiny and teach them.

And after you got sick and you could no longer run and play with the rest of the "herd" and your time with us grew short, there you were still showing your love, either laying in my office with me or curled up with one of your children.

Now Heaven has gained another Angel and I know you are watching over all of us as you did while you were here on earth and you are preparing the way for us and waiting for all of us to be together again. And until that day we see each other again and we all cross the Rainbow Bridge together, I love you and miss you daily and I will carry your love and memory in my heart.

May 13, 2015 - Brought home your ashes today and put them in your granite urn in my home office. Now you will always be with me.

June 28, 2015 - We brought home a dog from the local rescue, he is a senior dog that had been at the rescue for over 6 months with little prospect for adoption. In keeping with your kind and loving spirit we wanted to give him a loving forever home for whatever time he has left on this earth. I know you would have liked him and welcomed him like you have all the others, and I am sure you are looking down on us with approval.

February 2, 2018 - Blondie joined you today, please look for her and take care of her.

March 8, 2018 - Coco suddenly and unexpectedly was taken from this world. You never knew him as he joined the family after you left us. Please find him and take care of him too.

December 10, 2019 - Bear crossed over the bridge this evening. The first of your children to leave us. Please find him, and tell him for us, run free and we will see him and all of you again.
