Memories of Simba
Goodbye My Old Friend

Goodbye old friend. Today you went and crossed the Rainbow Bridge. I'm certain it will be a better place with you there and I know you will enjoy playing with the others in such a wonderful setting. Although our hearts are heavy and we already miss you very much, we are happy with the thought of your renewed body, devoid of the aches and pains of age and the brain tumor that served as your passport. You came into our lives nearly twelve and a half years ago. We still remember meeting you in the shed when you came and sat upon Daddy's foot. Even then you knew us and recognized you belonged with us. Across these years, through good and trying times, your love and devotion has been constant. We could always count on you and you on us. We will miss you so much that our words are unable to describe the loss we feel. We can still see your handsome face in our minds and we will until the day we die. You were so much more than a cat, so much more than a pet or even a member of the family. You were our trusted friend. You were important to us and you were loved. We will think of you often and there will always be a hole in our hearts. We will treasure your memory. You will always have a special place inside of us. You will always be our boy. Simba, have a wonderful time rolling in the beautiful meadows but keep one eye on the Rainbow Bridge. One day you will see us there and we'll carry you over and we'll be together forever. We can hardly wait to touch your soft fur and hear you purr again. Goodbye for now our friend. We love you and we always will. Daddy and Mommy
