I rescued Stevie 13 years ago but in truth he rescued me. He seemed to know when someone was in need of the love he wanted to share and was always willing to share it. He was known and loved by many communities and churches. He was often called the unofficial mayor of Tully. He thought when they started King's Corner Market that he was the king they were talking about. In his early and middle years he was a service dog who visited nursing homes and children's programs. 5 years ago he suffered a severe back injury and it was doubtful he would walk again. He decided that wasn't the case and he eventually was walking around town with his Dad, just a little slower. I little over six months ago, the arthritic back caught up with him and he could no longer walk without help. That never stopped him from bringing his special love and joy to those he encountered and that were around him. He was loved by many and his loss will be a big void in David's and my life for quite awhile. God blessed us with and amazing fur baby for much longer than any would have imagined and I'm sure he has begun to share Stevie love with those at the Rainbow Bridge, including those who have passed on and were Stevie love recipients in this life. |
