From the day we laid eyes on Sammy, we fell in love with him. We think he was about 4 months old that summer of 1990. He was all legs and huge feet and as he grew into his feet, he always had that puppy face that showed love. He loved his frisbee and would carry it all the way to the park in his mouth. He and Chaka, our female, were devoted to each other and she is lost without him. He would always greet "Daddy" at the door and be so excited when we went for a walk. We miss him terribly but know he is safe now and well with no more pain. 10/27/04 - Oh Sammy it's only been a week since you left but it seems like much longer. Daddy and I miss you and so does Chaka and Cotton. The weather is cold and we have had a fire going every night and I miss seeing you laying by the fireplace, which you loved to do. 11/19/04 Oh Sammy, it seems like forever since I've seen you and Chaka greeting me when I come home at night. Your ashes are in a beautiful box on Daddy's dresser and I put a little angel on it to watch over you. We miss you so much! We bought Chaka a new bed hoping that it would be soft and comfort her without you but she still is lonely but seems to be doing a little better now. I have your picture on my desktop on my computer here at work and everytime I look at it, it is as if you are right here and I'll see you when I come home. You were such a great friend and a very special dog. I love you Sammy, wait for me at the Bridge! Oct 26th - it's now been a year since we lost you Sammy and Daddy and I miss you a lot. I had a dream the other day about you and you looked happy but when I called you, you couldn't come to me. I guess it's your way of telling me that you are OK and happy and will wait for me. I just wish I could hug you one more time and see that funny puppy face of yours. Chaka is fine and seems happy although since she is 15 now who knows when she'll be joining you. That will make her happy! Sammy, Daddy and I love you! Sept 2007 - Sammy have you seen Chaka yet? She has joined you at the bridge now and we know that you will find each other. Take care of her for us Sammy and Mommy & Daddy will be with you soon. Wait for us!
