The pictures of you carved in our hearts and minds are indelible. There you are....wiggling your back-end in greeting, protecting your kingdom with a woof woof and a mad dash towards those who dared to enter, chasing deer through the woods, galloping down the beach, sticking that pink valentine nose into the bay to retrieve a shell, sunning yourself by the roadside, jumping over your Sister, cutting her off at the pass, visiting Honey at every opportunity, riding in the car with Mom as chauffeur, giving her the paw if she dared go without you, wrestling with Daddy on the bed and with the big dogs in the Museum Park dog-run, sleeping on the living room chair you claimed as your own, chomping up countless biscuits, trotting along with Dad on those long morning walks, pausing to roll over to scratch your stomach on a patch of irresistible green grass or finding a fence that absolutely needed crawling under, the disappearing acts after which you returned so very pleased with yourself. All these things and more we will always remember. So go now, heart of our hearts, and find your beloved brother, Sampan at the Bridge. Wait for us there.
