I will remember how you wouldn't let us look at another puppy that day. You belonged with us. YOU chose US over 14 years ago. You cried the first 2 nights and by the 3rd slept comfortably all night...on the top of my head. As the kids grew, so did our family. You would babysit the grand kids when they went down for naps. You stood guard by the door, sure to come get me the minute they stirred. You couldn't wait to play with your friends. You were the entertainer. Chasing the water from the hose, your little legs trying to keep up. Digging through 6' snow banks trying to get the snowballs I tossed. Doing your tricks and then graduating to sign language. Going kneeboarding and tubing with Paul. The games you played with the deer. You didn't know how worried I was for you. Swimming for the stick and begging me to throw it again. On the hunt for muskrats. Your love for the annual firework show. Pacing in front of the window waiting for them to start. Being captain of the ship on the boat. Talking to your friends if they were on their docks. Then one day, you just couldn't contain how happy you were to see the boxer and jumped in the water from the boat. You just wanted to go see your friend! You warned us about imminent danger from the FedEx driver, the mailman and every school bus that passed. Every visitor we had was there just to see you and you showed how glad you were. You were a beautiful, loyal and gentle soul. We will never be the same without you. Nothing will be. You wait for me at the bridge. Go get that stick, snowball and water hose. Make your bed, and wait for me. Oh Tiny. I love and miss you so very much. 4/16/23 |
