Every day with her was cherished. Her little brown eyes always looked at me with trust and love. The day I picked her up from being lost for 12 days was the most memorable. I'll never forget the phone call telling me she was found and the 100 mile an hour drive for one and a half hours to see her again. Although I knew she was safe, I had to be with her. The house was SO empty with out her then and it's even more so now. I would gladly make that trip again if only she was here. Words cannot express how deeply saddened I am at the loss of my baby girl. I had a pet name for her, Pookey, pook and even pookers. She knew each one of these names. The act that she was most famous for was her fetish for taking off your socks. She would go after a socked foot and carefully pull it off. When she got it off, she'd shake it around, then stop and look at the other foot. Drop her sock and go after the next. I so miss her rooting around on the bed in the morning grunting and snorting, then peeking out from under the covers at me playing her own version of peek-a-boo. Her little brown eyes captured my heart forever. She could NEVER be replaced. I have never been so close to a little dog before. She has my heart now and forever. If ever a dog had a soul, this one did. I can't wait to be with her again to look into her trusting eyes and hear her snorting sounds. Daddy misses you, baby girl! |
