Memories of Walter
Oh Dear Sweet Walter (Wally, Waller),

I found you in the middle of the road on my way to a pet sitting job with Hannah in the truck in November 2010. I put you in a folded box I had and took you to the vet. She thought you were about 7 years old, but I think she was wrong. She opened a can of cat food, and you almost took her hand off. You were so hungry and weak. Your bloodwork was okay though, and I brought you home and you were so skinny.

After a while you got comfortable and became the 'bully' cat. You got big and put on a lot of weight. You were such a brat to the other cats and would just wack them for no reason. Sometimes you would run out onto the deck and sneak out the kitchen door. You loved sitting with your front leg straight out like you were the king. You loved hopping the bedroom gate in the morning and jumping on the bed to say good morning to me. I would pet you then you drooled all over me.

That one night I called you in the kitchen for kitty num-nums (treats), and you didn't come. I found you in the pink room lying on the floor with your back end paralyzed. I picked you up, and your back end just hung there. I then put you in the small dog bed Jesse loved so much. You were so stressed because you couldn't move and you kept trying then started crying. Mommy and daddy were heartbroken. We knew something was terribly wrong and that you were going to leave us to go to the bridge. You did early that morning.

Mommy and daddy are so very sorry. We have no idea what happened. You were fine all day and just 1/2 hour before that happened. I hope all your furry brothers and sisters greeted you at the bridge, and they are showing you the ropes. Please be nice and don't be a bully. Stan man has been so lost without you. It's just him and Holly now. Down to 2 cats which is so weird when we had 14 at one point.

We love and miss you so much! Please be happy in your new home and look down on us every now and then.

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, Stanley, Holly and all your furry dog brothers and sisters

7/28/24 - One (1) year on 7/3/23 we lost you. I'm so sorry this is late. So much is going on. Daddy is sick with cancer and is not doing well. Mommy is a mess! I hope you greeted Jazzy at the bridge on 9/27/23 and Jesse 1/25/24. Stan Man and Holly are okay. Stan runs when I have to give him meds in the ear. Holly is being a nurse to daddy, and we call her Nurse Holly. I wish that night I would have stayed with you or brought you in my room. I just assumed you'd rather be alone. We miss you, sweet boy and all your bulliness. A big ole tree came down on the kitty graveyard that has to be taken care of. I hope you are happy and love your new home. You were such a handsome boy and we miss you and love you so much.

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, Holly, Stan Man and all your furry dog brothers and sisters
