ZZ made the sweetest little birdie sounds. She was always overjoyed watching birdies at the feeders. She chirped along with my guitar playing if it was not too awful. When doves perched on the porch railing or the porch floor, she would fly to the carpet to be closer and get their attention. ZZ loved her thistle treats fed out of my hand and loved having her tummy rubbed. Spring and summer were always times of joyous chirping from her perch by the screen door which annoyed the neighbors. ZZ flew upstairs to watch birdies higher up in trees and would not come down till she damn well felt like it. My feathered friend ZZ came to me as a rescue parakeet. She was an enduring presence for 10 years and loved flying to her window perch to watch the birds, chirping her happiness. She was great fun. I'll miss her lively spirit and unique birdie personality. Fly free little one. |
