Pokey

Pokey

Here today, gone tomorrow
No more pain, no more sorrow
Always so faithful, we are so grateful
We lost our best friend today

Remembering the years we played
The countless chase of the moose
The battle of the beaver
The constant beacon of the squirrel
Your howl to the fire practice siren

To miss shotgun in the truck, no way
The call to the tennis ball
Or to yank off my glove

Your mind is not clear
Your eyes are cloudy
Your ears hear no more
So stiff and so sore
To chase is no more

You heart is still large though tired
You were faithful to all
You were the best dog ever
For this we are so grateful

Your memories fill a lifetime
You cannot be replaced
Absolutely one of a kind

You will be missed but not forgotten

In pain no more, may you chase the moose
Battle the beaver, catch the tennis balls
And howl to the sirens once more

Thanks for all the joy that you gave!
