Ode to Caitlyn
by Andrea Reiter.........................................
She'd climb the walls
She'd pee in the sink
Her hazel eyes would shine

And like a flame
She'd go shooting by
Darting from her place to mine

We played away each summer's day
But soon it was to end
A speeding car stole the life
Of my sweetheart, my daughter, my friend.

If grief and tears could bring her back
She would be here with me
But grief and tears could do no more
Such was not to be

I love like hers will wait for me
And when my day is done
We'll play away each summer's day
Beneath a heavenly sun.
