THE SILVERY MOON
by Andrea Fernandes.........................................
Miles and miles away,
As dusk turns its face away,
The moon is briskly on its way.
Where does it dream to show its face?
To the universe or the earth's surface?
Looking at the moonlight stream,
To conquer it, is man's dream.
Miles and miles away,
The moon is briskly on its way.
The moon has a face like the clock in the hall,
She shines on thieves on the garden wall.
Creeping slowly and steadily,
Over the mountains and over the sea
And then back into the deep valley.
Through the tranquil of the night sky,
Does the moon upon all pry;
Miles and miles away,
The moon is briskly on its way.
Creeping and prowling in the silence of the night,
Are the humpbacks and bats full of might.
Upon the sweet forget-me-nots...
Upon the family to unite with loving thoughts...
Radiating its silvery light,
Upon them all, is the moon bright.
Miles and miles away,
The moon is briskly on its way.
