My best Friend
by Andrew Cutter.........................................
When I came home from school today on October 15th,2010, my family was crying and sniffing. When I looked around, I noticed all but one family memeber was there. My Cat and best friend, Lucas. I knew he had died at that moment. I needed no telling. I expected a nice, quiet peaceful death. When my dad finally calmed down enough to tell me what had happened, I listened. When my parents were leaving for a high school reunion, my cat escaped like he always does. He was outside for some time. My cat was blind and sick. He had no idea what he was doing or where he was going. We never allowed him out much because he was old and sick half the time. When my parents were packed and loaded up, they turned on the car and started backing out. He came out of nowhere and it happened in an instant. My neighbor watched in shock. My mom stopped before coming into the road. There on my driveway, which I had walked down earlier this morning, lay my best friend. It was all an accidnt that no one could've stopped. 7:30 am was the last time I saw him. I saw him again at 4:25 pm this afternoon. Burried right next to his former friend, our other cat, Shadow. I now know they live peacefully in our hearts, minds, souls and in heaven together, doing whatever cats like to do. He will always leave a little paw print, harilball or pile of poop on the floor for us.
Lucas, we WILL miss you dearly,
Mom, Dad, Andrew, Emily, Lily (Our kitten) and our little rat, cheddar.
Live well my buddy.
