Lucy and Honey
by Anna .........................................
I had two bunnies. Their names were Lucy and Honey. They were both so happy together! Always frolicking and playing and having a good time. We looked after them so well. They were very healthy.
But after six long years, Honey passed away. She was six years old, so she was very old. She had to be put down because she was infested with flies and bleeding.
When mum came back from the vets without Honey, I was so upset. But I knew someone who would be even more upset than me. Lucy. So I went outside to comfort her.
I told her all about Rainbow Bridge and how Honey has now gone over it. She is young and well again, and waiting for her.
The next year, when Lucy turned seven, we went on holiday for a few days. We got someone to look after Lucy. When we came back, Lucy wasn't in the garden. We got a note from the person who looked after her, saying that Lucy was dead...
She died on Easter. I was so upset, I cried! I made her a grave where she was buried in our back garden. I now have visions in my mind of her going over Rainbow Bridge, and reunited with Honey once more.
Lucy died of a mixture of things: old age, lonliness and eumonia. I still miss her very much but I know she's in a better place with Honey and she's gone over Rainbow Bridge. I love you both! xxxxxxx
