On Hias Way
by Barbara Murdick.........................................
The little guy just showed up one day. He was oh so thin and, literally, starving to death. His name, he said, was Ollie. He could have been a young one or he could have been a hundred. Hunger and lonliness had taken their toll. We began to nurse him back and fed him as often as he wanted..constantly! Ollie began to gain weight, his coat grew shiny, his eyes bright, his slow walk became a happy prance. All of our other kids, 7 kitties and 2 Rotties, accepted him into the family. Mama Kat fell in love - older or younger man?

Every night, after the Rotties were tucked in, Ollie would come into the office and sit with me while I played on the computer. He would lovingly nibble my face and sing purr-fect love songs. We would celebrate another day in each other's life. Ollie b' golly, Ollie Ollie ox n free, Ollie Lolly Pop..so many ways to sing back to him.

This little guy loved me, and I, him. He gave me 4 months of his magical presence.

Ollie stopped here before completing his journey to the Rainbow Bridge. He sang one last song on Tuesday, March 4, 2008.

I sing to you Ollie b' golly, Ollie Ollie ox n free, Ollie Lolly Pop.
Thank you for sharing your life with me..with us.
