The weave
by Bob Edwards.........................................
Within the great tapestry of living things, my friends thread stopped today
In all of my sad selfishness, I wish it weren't this way
She fought the very best she could, more pride I could not hold
Her quiet, loving way; I knew not she'd be so bold

But part of me does smile inside, thru flood of raging tears,
A future without her gentle way, it fills me with great fears.
Twelve years our threads have twined together, our lives both better made,
Our joys and times and games together, will surely never fade.

Many came to know her, and saw her happy sass
The gentle ears, her silly cowl, portrayed this lovely lass
Her run to door, to greet her friends, her smile and a scratch
She'd fetch a toy, "come on, let's go!", loved being hard to catch

The greatest peace I will remember, shared with all her friends,
Fortunate, we, who knew this love, thru memorance she still sends
The tapestry goes on without her now, her karma wove within
For all of us to benefit, our souls enriched have been

Farewell my sweet RhysL Edwards. Rest in peace.
