Boots
by Bonnie Cunha.........................................
Ode to Boots, by Lottimae,
You are missed ol'buddy of Mora
Your misdeeds still not all known
Roaming the vineyards and streets
Until you headed for home.
From times laid out in the road
To others stretched out for the chase
You had your extremes we know
But,at times you were judged in haste.
Some say that you were a naughty boy
Yet there was you other side
Your wagging tail of greeting
And guarding all with pride.
Becoming Bruno's Great Protector
We saw your chest expand
Leading accompanying, teaching
As you walked the land.
At last you have your dignity
No more coffee in the face
Stretched out in sun or unning free
It's now at your own pace.
So farewell to the big, black Lab
May his naughties be forgiven
As we bow our heads in memory
Since he is no longer living.
