My Cat, Bluestar
by Brianna Hammack.........................................
When i turned 10 on the same July i got my cat, Bluestar. we had driven all the way from Kosciusko, MS to Canton, MS and met a lady at a gas station, she had a basket full of little bitty kittens three gray and four black. i only had few minutes to choose and saw a slightly different colored gray kitten who , when i picked her up, had blue eyes with a green star in side them. i knew she was the one for me so she became My cat, out of all the cats my mom has and my step mom has (three young cats, a senior, and two kittens) Bluestar was mine and only mine they said she wasn't sociable, but she was always nice to me, she knew her name and i taught her how to use the litter box on the first day and never had to pick up any poop! the day after Christmas (Today December 26, 2010 I am 14 years old now) i went to visit my mother and left my cat as always, when i got to mom's house after having dinner my father called and said that she had seized up and they had taken her to the vet where they said that she had kidney failure and died. my father lives in Texas and i was visiting in Mississippi with my mom and didn't know and couldn't go home to see her, it was the saddest moment to the day. here is a short poem that my sister found and gave to me for this occasion:

God saw you getting tired, a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around you and said "Come with me"

With tearful eyes we watched, and saw you pass away.
Although we love you dearly, we could not make you stay.

A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands(paws) put at rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the Best.
