Keena was a husky/malmute mix...so loving,so smart.she loved her walks around the neighborhood,I didn't even need a leash for her,she knew every corner, every turn, right back into her own yard. She started having hip problems, put her on medication, one morning I heard scratching sounds from my kitchen where she has her water bowl, she went to get a drink of water, and was going back into living room where she sleeps, and she could not stand up on her own...her hips were about gone. I had some expensive medication given to her, over the next 2 days, she could not use her back legs at all.I carried her around in yard with a towel wrapped around her abdomen, and lifter her hind end up so she could walk with front 2 legs for 3 weeks, she was happy to be able to at least do that much. She was starting to get real frustrated not being able to be the dog she wanted to be,and I could not see her like this no more,I had to let her go...my best friend and companion. That was the hardest thing to do in my life,to see that needle,to let her go. She will be in my heart forever.
