Today was a very difficult day for my husband and I. We had to help our dog Cugo cross over Rainbows Bridge today. She was very ill and she fought long and hard against an auto-immune disease that showed no mercy. We named her Cugo because my husband liked that name from the Steven King movie "Cugo". Well it turned out "she was no Cugo". She was so timid, afraid of her own shadow and especially afraid of loud noises. Fireworks were a nightmare for her. It all started when my stepdaughter worked at a local pet store and decided (which she never took the back enterance) to take the back enterance no real reason just decided to take the back enterance that morning. Well everything happens for a reason. As my stepdaughter walked past a dumpster to get to the door she could hear whimpering sounds. She followed the noises and it led her to the dumpster. She opened it up and found brand new baby puppies that someone had thrown away in the dumpster. There were five. Unfortunately four did not make it but one did. Cugo was the one who survived. My stepdaughter brought her home and we had many years of joy with her. We think she was so timid because of the dramatic start in life that she got. We will always love her and miss her. Thank you Cugo. We are forever grateful to you for the many years of memories, affection, laughs and love that you gave us. You will be with us forever in spirit. Until we meet again my little love.
