A friend he was to me, although he seemed much more
I lay him down to sleep, now he waits at Heaven's Door

My days were filled with sunshine; my nights so full of joy
Now my heart is aching for the comfort of my little boy

As I looked into his eyes I knew something was wrong
For he once was so alive & his heart was so strong

His playfulness had left him & his joy seemed far away
