Today I had a heart breaaking task to do. I did it out of love,
And now my best friend of 10 years is living up above
Free to romp the meadows again and not feel any pain
That's the only consolation I have as I hang my head in shame
My heart feels so empty and my tears will not ease up
But I trust she is a young chow again, perhaps even a little pup
I love my little Zena girl and she was ready to go
Her eyes had lost their sparkle last night, she told me it was so
So today I did the hardest thing,and took her to my vet
I swear to God I felt her leave ,running right towards her Mom
Who took the journey across the bridge that I have come to love.
