My Buuba
by Cheryl Malone.........................................
My Bubba, on Monday night you cheerfully welcomed me home from work at 10 pm, so happy we were to see each other. We both went to sleep and sometime in the next few hours you became so deathly ill. No signs, no warnings. At 6 am that morning you had trouble walking so we rushed you to the veterinary hospital. A high fever, an infection, medication did not help, on Wednesday back to the vet office for a shot to help ease your pain on Thursday morning at 4 am I knew the time had come to say goodbye, back to the hospital and you were going into septic shock, if our love could have saved you, you would be by my side today. You were a baby only 6 years old, a big goofy puppy to us and you gracefully looked up to me from the gurny, licked me one last time and let the medication help bring you to the other side. Somehow you allowed my heart to heal a bit and led us to a puppy who lived 1000 miles away. His mother had been brutually shot and killed and let behind 7 little orphaned pups. Jeter came to us 3 months after you left and I believe you sent me to the website to find him, we love him and he is a different breed of dog then you but he does some many of the same things you used to do, he has certainly not replaced you noone dog ever could but he has helped mend my broken heart. I know that you are the rainbow bridge and we will meet again one day, I know that from that bridge you sent us this poor little pup that needed us, because you knew we also needed him. Thank you for still watching out for us, you are such a good boy!! I love you always and think of you everyday, you will always be My Bubba xoxo
