Connie
by Chris .........................................
When I saw you there at the pound in winter
I knew with your smile you could fill a void
A longing for a true companion
You gave me new hope
That with the right friend

I could do anything I wanted
With your unconditional love
Through thick and thin
You were true to me
And your love never wavered
You carried yourself
In sickness and health
With that same happy face

And that thick wagging tail
That told us each day
That you were here to stay
To give me support
In good times and bad

And as your final months came
You still pushed through
Though old age and illness
Tried to take your spirit
And on that fateful day
When you could push through no more
You looked at Judy Ann and I
And asked for support

And we gave it to you
As you gave it to us
To send you on your next journey
Where you will wait for us
And though my heart aches
And is in pieces crying for you
I know that someday
We will start our lives together anew

God bless you my 15 yr old beagle
Because you were the greatest gift of all.
Love Mommy, Daddy and Sister Selby
