Nala, named for a character in a story, born in May 2008. Died too young 12/7/2009. A cold snap over the weekend did her in; though I had seen her and fed her the night before, she did not show up for breakfast this morning. I found her under the walk, apparently unharmed so she likely froze during the night. Poor Nala, I tried to catch her all weekend without luck. Even set the small trap and tho she went in it, she was too smart to spring it. I almost had her once but to no avail. How I wish I'd have caught her for she was too young to go to the Bridge. Run free little Nala, no more pain, no cold ... run in the summer breeze thru eternity little girl, until we may meet again. It breaks my heart to lose you right before xmas. At least you got your turkey meat from Thanksgiving. I wish I could have told you it was warming up some today, and perhaps you'd have made it thru the night. So sorry I could not catch you and bring you in. Nala was a "Live Free or Die" kitty ... she lived free and died free. Her weight was good, she had not been sick, my only surmise is that she was too small to make it one more night. She only weighed about 5 lbs, a tiny thing, but named for Nala from the cartoon, she had the heart of a tiny lion. Goodbye Nala, I commend you to the Rainbow Bridge, where you will be forever warm ... laying in the sun.
Goodbye for now.
