It Was A Wonderful Life

It Was A Wonderful Life

I had a wonderful life, my mom and me
She love me so much, this I could see
She fed me, bathed me and even cut my hair
She knew at the groomers I was so scared
She hugged me, held me and even rocked me at times
We would watch TV, mom and me, usually until bedtime

I had a happy and wonderful life you see,
I was loved so much I hated to leave
I needed relief from my pain and agony
If she could have only known the pain that I endured
She would have spared me from trying to find a cure
She finally saw in my eyes that were growing dim
That the time was near when I had to give in

I tried to do my best to be happy and of good cheer
But mom, saw that my time with her, was really, really near
I know how she loved me, I felt it in my heart
She cuddled me and loved me right from the start
I had the right mom, no other was like her
She'd do almost anything to find the right cure

On July 8, 2006, I had to say good-bye
I'll never again have to have a tear wiped from my eye
I'm happy and healthy and don't hurt anymore
So don't weep for me mom, I'll see you again I am sure

I'll be watching and waiting for your smiling face
When our eyes meet and we again embrace
I know how sad you must be, but know that I am fine
The love you gave to me, was 1 in a million and one of a kind.

Your Loving Pet, Poncho
