'Cause this world says we shouldn't grieve,
So much for our pet's death.
But I say this pain hurts so much,
I'm almost out of breath.
With memories comes tears of joy,
And sorrow all the same.
I long to see your face again,
Yet only thoughts remain.
You play with laughter in your heart,
Up in the sky above.
But how my soul just wants to burst,
So I can give you love.
One day I'll play with you up there,
For now, this Earth I'll tread.
And soon I hope instead of tears,
I'll smile with joy instead.
