I forgot to mention Kelsey in my story about Ashley and Ollie. Kelsey came to us at the age of 2. Ollie was getting up there in age and my parents weren't sure whether to get a puppy or not. The breeder we got Ollie from called them, knowing they were thinking about another dog, and suggested they meet Kelsey. Kelsey was originally a show dog the breeder had who suffered an injury to her one leg, which disqualified her as show quality. The breeder felt Kesley was losing much love and attention while she was tending to the show dogs. So, they brought Kelsey over to meet Ollie. They regarded each other and pretty much got along...let each other have their own space. Kelsey wasn't used to "house" sounds so the first few months were pretty funny as she was scared of everything. She's 9 now and still jumps at certain noises she should be used to. Kelsey is definitely her own woman. She does not give kisses out randomly. She is not a huggy, snuggly type dog which we had become so used to. But, she'll come up to you and put her head under your head to show she wants to be petted and wants to be near you. Every so often, she sneak you a kiss but if you ask her for another one...she will not oblige. She does this little dance when she knows it's time for her breakfast bisquits and when Mom calls Dad for dinner, she barks to make sure he comes to the table. She is lovable and such a sweet dog but she is very different from Ashley and Oliver. She's woman and it's her perogative to do what she wants to do. LOL!
