From Our Mellie

From Our Mellie

I knew that you were crying, and I saw you could not sleep,
I was standing near your bed last night, I came in to have a peep.

I softly poked you with my nose, to take away your tears,
To know that I was with you, to thank you for all the years.

When you poured your morning coffee, I stood close by your feet,
You reached into the cabinet, like I was waiting for my treat.

I went with you to the store today, I followed you around,
You thought of me a hundred times, although made not a sound.

I walked with you so closely as you sat sadly on the chair,
I put my head right on your lap, so you could stroke my hair.

You promised you would keep me safe and always by your side,
You did, you gave me love, my home, and happiness miles wide.

God says that I can see you and visit every day,
you need to know that this is true, so I can go and play.

I know your heart is heavy, but I know it's full of love,
That love was with me many years, I still feel it here above.

I tried to grow old gracefully, and I think you both do know,
When finally God started calling me, you knew I had to go.

You are my loving masters, I don't like to see you sad,
I'll now do something special and in a moment you'll be glad.

Look at me I'm rolling over, rub my belly please once more,
I always loved your tender touch, as we lay together on the floor.

Now when you sit so quietly, I hope not feeling blue,
In the peacefulness, just think, I am sitting there with you.

Love your Mellie
