We greet this day
with somber heart,
a good old friend
and us shall part.
Loving and caring
for all these years,
such a companion
shall draw our tears.
A friend whose time
has come at last,
to doggy heaven
we're sure she'll pass.
Those warm, tender,
big brown eyes,
who could resist
such a grandiose prize.
To run and play again,
all with such ease,
dance in the clouds,
lift her nose to the breeze.
Chase those coyotes,
the bunnies and squirrels,
wag her tail gently,
she hears the "two" girls.
Forever faithful,
not one to judge,
unconditionally loving
and never a grudge.
Of this great friendship,
devotion and trust,
for her journey to heaven,
we do what we must.
So sweet and gentle,
yet brave to the end,
a soul mate forever,
the best kind of friend.
With ache in our hearts
we whisper goodbyes,
to this dear old soul
who graced our lives.
