Godiva
by Donna Rella.........................................
On September 11, 2010 at approximately 4:15 am we lost our best friend and companion, Godiva. She was a beautiful chow/lab mix. She was brown as a pupply but turned black as she got older. Godiva came into my life at a very difficult time. My husband and I had just lost our 4 day old daughter in February. In April my husband asked me what I wanted for our 2nd anniversary. I said I wanted a puppy. So off we went to pick out a puppy. When we walked into the room, I immediately spoted a brown ball of fluff. I went over to the cage and the ball of fluff came over to me and licked my hand...it was love at first site. Godiva filled a big void in our lives...she was our baby.

Four years later, I gave birth to my daughter Angela and then 2 years after that my son Nicholas...but Godiva was still my first baby.

She was a faithful friend and companion for 16 wonderful years. She was loving and obiedient and loved all of us very much as we did her.

My daughter and I taught Godiva many tricks, but our favorite one was when she would beg. She would sit on her hind legs and put her front paws up...she looked so funny. She would stay like that for up to 20 minutes. My children adored her.

She went to Rainbow Bridge On September 11 at 4:15 in the morning surrounded by all of us. She knew that we were all there. We just kept petting her and telling how how much we loved her. Godiva had a long and happy life.

We will never forget Godiva. We will LOVE HER FOREVER!
