The Loss Of Pinto
A decade of companionship,
Pinto the dog, and I.
Then suddenly his flame went out,
and all I do is sigh.
I did not know how sick he was;
so sketchy was the clue;
for by the time he went to the vet,
there was little anyone could do.
I should have,
I would have,
Too late to say,
It's over and Pinto's passed away.
Never to see his bright little face again,
will be the consequence that I will have to pay.
