Gracie May was my beloved two-year old puppy. We adopted her from a rescue shelter approximately ten months before her tragic death. She had symptoms of what is known as a stomach flip, where a poor dogs stomach literally flips over, stopping all blood flow. One night she was energetic and playful. My dad and I decided to take her out for a run, which we had done hundreds of times before and Gracie May absolutely loved it. This night however, she stopped half a mile from home and fell; she couldn't walk or even stand up. My dad went to get the car to drive her weak body home. That night she started throwing up and pooping everywhere. The next morning, she had horrible diarrhea and withing a few hours, she had passed away.
Not only was Gracie May an amazing dog, but she was part of the family. We had her such a short time, but we know it was worth it. She was extremely smart and submissive, anything a dog owner could hope for. Her name shall never be forgotten, and we all know she is running with her new friends across rainbow bridge. Though we may not see her, we know she is always with us, missing us almost as badly as we miss her. No dog can ever compare to my precious Gracie May, but I know wherever she is millions of people are loving her and laughing at her silly tricks. Gracie May, I love you. I miss you so much and please be with us through these sorrowful times. This separation is only temporary, and I know I will meet with you someday and walk across rainbow bridge with you. I will never forget you.
