Cody was a good dog. He loved to play with tennis balls and squeaky toys. But the one thing that he hated the most, were motorcycles. That is where our story begins.
My Grandfather adopted Cody in vermont. The person who worked at the animal shelter, told him that cody might have been abused before. and that the person who owned him might have had a motorcycle. (which explains why he hated them,) And that day my Grandfather took him home, and we have been with him since.
Now yesterday my grampa was playing catch with him. But Cody then suddenly took off. Grandpa called his name, but he didn't come back.
He went down the hill to find that Cody had been hit by a car. It was a police car. The police man helped my grampa up the hill with cody and he and my aunt rushed to the vet.
It ended up with Cody being okay and just a few scratches. We were releived. But then grampa got a call about cody having to have his spleen removed and going to the deerfield vet where he could have 24 hour service.
My grampa and uncle rushed away at 9:15 PM to take Cody to deerfield. When they got there, grampa rushed in. My Uncle heard cody cough and then grampa came. When he came out he called my grandma.
She answered the phone, eager to hear the news. she expected to hear that cody was okay and he was coming home tomorrow, but instead, Her heart broke as she heard that Cody, made it to the vet, but didn't live to see us once again. We cried. We called our realatives who were dying to know and they burst into tears too.
But the really strange thing is that we prayed to our great grandma in heaven to tell god that Cody was hurt, and just minutes after it rained. It was a sign.
I have learned from this experience that it's the small things in life, like pets, that you really miss when they're gone.
My grandma told us that cody was sent up there to protect our family and pets who have passed away.
I LOVE YOU CODY! YOU'RE MY SPECIAL GAURDIAN ANGEL! :-)
