LACY
by FRAN SAMS.........................................
Lacy you were 9 years young when you passed away. I didn't even know how sick you were until too late to try to do anything other than sustain you until you were ready to go. You had so much heart from the time you were a puppy. You were one of the hardest dogs I have ever dealt with, very Alpha, biting me, growling your displeasure at 4 weeks old. We went through many trials, the vet bills when you tried to help with stock and weren't quite quick enough to get out of the way. I had you spayed early because of your temper and then you turned out to be the best dog I ever had the privilege of working with. There was a black time in our relationship when you attacked your mother several times. We tried to find another home for you but no one seemed good enough so you stayed and worked through your issues. You had incredible intelligence and knew all our horses names and would pick out and bring to me the one I wanted. I will miss your incredible nose in finding out where all the mice are hiding, people often laughed when I told them that if you pointed, you could be sure there was a mouse hiding where you were pointing at.
I will miss your enthusiasm in the morning in trying to get me to hurry to get the animals fed. You had so much life and put your heart and soul into anything you did. Your mother will miss you cleaning her face everyday even though she hated you doing it. There will be no one to play tug of war with her the way you did. I am glad for the week I had with you after you were diagnosed with chronic kidney failure at least we had some quality time together. You were such a good patient and the end came far to quickly. It was so hard to decide to help you pass but prolonging the inevitable for my sake would not have been fair to you. You haven't been gone a day and I don't know how to face the tomorrow without you by my side. I will never forget you and wait for me until we meet again.
