We'll Meet at Rainbow Bridge
by Fredda Shutes.........................................
When I was just a little puppy my owners named me "Little Pooh."
All day I was alone in a little room. I was unhappy but what could I do?

I guess my masters cared for me but I found it hard to believe,
Because seldom did they play with me which caused me to sadly grieve.

I didn't ever get a chance to play fetch with balls or sticks;
They never bothered to take the time to teach me cute little tricks.

My hair was matted and dirty when it should have been snow white.
I was meant to be a pretty little pup; instead I was a pitiful sight.

But God had not forgotten me, and already had a plan in mind.
He worked it out so I got a new home where everyone was loving and kind

Yes, I came to live with wonderful You who gave me a new, pretty name.
I knew I'd been so greatly blessed and would no longer feel any shame.

I was treated like a princess and even slept upon your bed.
I had other doggies to play with. We were all happy and well fed.

Many happy years went by before time began to take its toll.
I was so loved and pampered as too soon I became quite old.

Then sadly I had to leave this world and the people I loved so much.
You held me tenderly in your arms as you stoked me with your loving touch.

I felt your tears fall on my face as I went to my final rest.
The last thing I heard you say was "Lacey, my love, you simply were the best."

The pain would have been unbearable if this were the final good-bye.
But I know one day we'll meet again at the rainbow bridge in the sky.

Love,
Your loving Lacey

You precious little Lacey
