Once More
by Harvey Slade.........................................
Here you leave me
alone and broken,
And my heart calls for what must be spoken
I wish that I could see your smile
Once more.
Is this where the story ends?
You leave me here so I can fend
by myself without guidance
From my only compass.
Shattered like a broken glass
I know you lie now in the grass
Upon the many flowers
That gaze upon your grin.
But still in dreams I see your face,
And In my heart there's an empty space.
Reserved for when I meet your grace
Once more.
For I know this is not the end,
I will meet you when I asscend
Up towards those cloudy skies
And through those sleepers I shall fly
Soar right past the pearly door,
I smile, as your face once more
brightens up those cloudy skies
And once more beauty meets my eyes.
The sun shines through and I shall see
The face of divinity.
