I reach out to touch you, to stroke your soft fur and whisper into your little ears, but all that greets me is silence and empty space.
I seek the warmth of your purr and your soft breath during the lonely nights, but all that greets me is emptiness and the cold spot your soft warm body used to fill.
I look wistfully at the pictures of happier times and remembrances and they cheer me, if only for the moment.
Our time together was all too brief, yet I am comforted by the memories of all the happy times we shared and the knowledge that we will once again be united.
But oh, the time does go so slowly by...
