THE LAST DAY
by JEAN CLARK.........................................
Peggy Sue, it was raining when I took you
To go to sleep.

The angels were crying because
They knew you were dying.

Then, as we were driving,
The rain stopped and the sun started shining.

The angels were welcoming you.
They knew you would be there soon.

Now you are singing with the angels,
And there is no more hurt.

Peggy Sue, you were such a special dog.
Everyone who knew you loved you.

And now, I can't believe you are gone.
You were with me for so long.

Although we must now be apart,
You will always be in my heart.

Wait for me at the Rainbow Bridge.
