When You Waved Goodbye
by Jacqueline Kirby.........................................
When you waved your tail goodbye,
I didn't know what to do;
I didn't know that you could die,
And that maybe I would too.

Someone has stabbed me in the heart,
And I can't find you anywhere;
I didn't know why you had to part,
Separate me and you.

I never thought this day would come,
And there's nothing I can do;
I want you to come home,
And throw your paws around me.

The emptiness I feel,
The gap inside my heart;
This doesn't seem at all real,
But you're somewhere there in side.

You left your paw prints deep in my soul,
We both can feel it, too;
I can't bare to touch your bowl,
Knowing you're not there.

But when I think about you,
My emptiness has part;
I know that you're there, too,
Beside the ones who cherish our heart.

However long it will take,
We know the time will come;
When you and I will for both our sake,
Will come together to never part.

I'm with you again,
It feels so right;
More memories to gain,
And no past in sight.
