Sammy
by Jane Butler.........................................
It was March 13, 2010. I was in barn and Sammy game in to play with his horses. He was having a goodday for being 13 years old. He was a beautiful husky, shepard. My boyfriend drove in and of course Sammy went to greet him. I was in the house. He screamed I ran over your dog. My son ran out and said stay in the house. He had broke his leg and driven over his head, but Sammy was still alive. My boyfirend screamed in the house I have to put him down, hes dying. They did and buried him. My son 16 had always had Sammy there. How he did it I don't know. Theres no excuse, when you pull in a driveway and a dog comes to greet you. You stop! Find out where he is and then drive ahead. I don't think I can forgive my boyfriends actions. I have not spoken to him since. I lost a good dog. I moved to my ten acres a year ago. It was the first time in Sammys' life no leash, no being tied up. He was so happy. Then someone kills him. I don't understand! I love you Sammy. I am so sorry I didn't protect you.
