Brandy - my Teacher
by Janeen Hamilton.........................................
As I walked home this summer day
As in the days before,
I remember her sitting all alone
Lost, I thought, for sure.
I knew, in fact, quite clearly
How it feels to loose your way.
Not know where your loved ones have gone
Unwanted, cast out, no say....
Of course, I stopped and softly spoke
You're okay now, I am here.
We'll find out just where you belong
Come with me, you're safe, don't fear.
I made all efforts to find those she loved
And missed and from whence she came,
Realizing how sad they must be too.
Somehow losing their way the same.
No one came to claim her
As unbelieveable as it seems
She pierced my heart,I need her now
I ran away with her in my dreams!
Blessed years past, she aged more rapid,
Sickness took hold but she
Held on with dignity and grace.
A living example on how to be.
I did all that a friend could do
who fell short, and so I prayed
"Please God, don't let us be apart.
I can't imagine life that way."
And anxiously, I'd talk to God
Expressing my biggest fear
Then He reminded me of how we met
As he whispered in my ear...
"My hand gently placed her there,
That day when your paths crossed.
To wait for you, you see my child
It was you that was so lost!
She was Devine, an angel
Who, watching from above
Saw YOU were the one that was in need
Of guidance, hope and love.
So she came knowing she would suffer
Because she wanted to reveal
The message she knew you needed
The one to help you Heal!
That though you were left so long ago
That you were not alone, cast out
Don't feel unwanted, never more
You belong here, and to her, no doubt."
I realize that I am not alone
And I couldn't see this all before
I am with her every day and know
at Rainbow Bridge we'll meet once more.
And I also know a purpose I'm meant for
To shepherd over my flock of "sheep"
I won't cross over as Heaven for me
Lies there, watching loved ones meet.

In memory of my "TugBoat"
